The Vancouver Rainbow Concert Band, under the direction of Christopher Johnston, stands as Canada's sole LGBTQ2S+ concert band, gathering every Thursday evening in the vibrant West End neighborhood. Our doors are open to all, fostering an inclusive atmosphere. Established in 1990, shortly after the conclusion of the Gay Games III, our band serves as a haven for individuals within the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered community who seek a secure and encouraging space to practice and showcase their musical talents. We continuously seek to expand our membership, eagerly inviting woodwind, brass, and percussion players who can read sheet music to join our ranks. Regardless of age, skill level, gender, or sexual orientation, every instrumentalist is warmly embraced, and there is no requirement for auditions.
