DEVOURS
Devours (they/them) is the DIY synth pop project of Vancouver-based artist Jeff Cancade.
Across four acclaimed underground albums, including the Polaris Prize-longlisted Homecoming Queen, Devours has written confessional and confrontational electronic music about masculinity, body image, gay love, and the darker side of queer existence. They have toured Canada and the US, received coverage from Vice, CBC, Exclaim, and the Globe and Mail, and have performed at festivals such as SXSW, Treefort Music Fest, Up Here Festival, Vancouver Jazz Fest, and more. Their anticipated fifth record will be released in 2025.
PARLOUR PANTHER
Parlour Panther’s enchanting indie rock leaves a lasting impact through their emotional expression and exceptional vocal and guitar skills. Frankie and Lee Brave, a trans non-binary couple, have been creating music together for 10 years. Their latest album, out on Coax Records March 22, “BLOOM, boasts a vibrant mix of blues-inflected vocals, playful synths and an energetic low-end that’ll have you moving your hips and shoulders in the midst of your soul-searching”, according to Exclaim! And CBC sums it up perfectly with “BLOOM is Parlour Panther's celebration of connection, serving as an open-arms invitation for listeners to partake in their joy”.
