GYALFEST is intended to be a positive and safer space for Black female entertainers and creatives.
It is an inclusive space under the pretence and understanding that Black Women and WOC are the most discriminated, disrespected, and devalued group in the world and deserve love, adoration, respect, grace and ultimately to be treated with kindness and sensitivity.
Our aim is to change the narrative by creating safer spaces of unification, love & joy.
At the core of the GYALFEST philosophy is a movement that is faith-driven, intentional, bold, unprecedented, and unapologetic. It’s name is a nod to Toronto’s vibrant West Indian community, GYALFEST serves as a popular platform to battle and break ties with the often wrongfully celebrated negative connotations surrounding women, particularly Black Women from bullying to defaming sexuality in today’s popular culture and inspires us to encourage each other, teach one another and break generational trauma and curses that hinder us from developing long-lasting female friendships and relationships with each other and ourselves.
