Vancouver Pride Brings Back the Vancouver Winter Pride Festival

Events curated to honour the existing celebrations in February, including Black History Month and BC Family Day.

Vancouver, BC – Vancouver Pride Society announces the second edition of the Vancouver Winter Pride Festival, taking place from February 18 – 26, 2023 at venues across the city. The events are curated to celebrate the intersections of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and include diverse programming, aiming to bring us all together in a normally isolating time of the year.

The festival will kick-off with the Unicorn Disco on the 18th, a glittery dance party featuring a stacked lineup of international and locall drag talent, vogue performers and DJs who will keep guests dancing until the late hours of the night. Tickets go on sale January 16 and will include Meet & Greet packages.

“VPS is excited to bring Pride to the winter season! Our community deserves to thrive throughout the year. Winter Pride is all about collaboration and warm celebrations,” says Allison Dunne, Co-Executive Director of Vancouver Pride. ”This year, you will experience dance, drag, art, comedy, education, poetry and more! Our events will be indoor and outdoor, ticketed and free, all ages and 19+ to accommodate the diversity of our community in Vancouver. The Winter Pride season is another wonderful opportunity to build connections and relationships that keep us strong and supported as individuals. Let the love keep you warm this Winter Pride!”

To honour existing February celebrations, Periodt: Black Queer Poetry Slam will bring black queer poets to the stage, and Chosen Family Day will bring together folks of all ages to celebrate with their loved ones at this free event.

Collaborations with established community partners are once again at the core of Vancouver Winter Pride Festival. Fans can look forward to a double-feature Comedy Here Often? show and to the Wintour is Coming Ball in partnership with Van Vogue Jam, bringing you the Game of Thrones meets Devil Wears Prada clash you never knew you needed.
