A Thank You to the Supporters of Pride 2021
October 6, 2021
For the 2021 Pride Season, Vancouver Pride Society’s Community Bursary was the beneficiary of so many fundraisers organized by different businesses around the city. The Community Bursary Program, that allows us to support smaller Pride organizations, and other local organizers so they can put on their own events. This program empowers grassroots organizers who already serve specific identities under the 2SLGBTQIA+ umbrella. Here’s what some of our generous contributors have to say.
Stanley Park Brewing
Stanley Park Brewing is thrilled to have donated $1,180 all proceeds from our Rainbow Riot Sangria Beer and our Stanley Park Brewing merchandise towards the Vancouver Pride Society’s Community Bursary Fund. We are happy to support local community groups, event organizers and smaller Pride organizations throughout the year.
As a long-time sponsor of VPS, we were excited become an Official Pride Lounge for this year’s Pride festivities. During Pride month, our Head Brewer, Bennie Dingemanse, and assistant brewer Rachel Young, took on the challenge of creating the perfect brew: Sangria Beer. They added copious amounts of grapes, berries, citrus and tropical fruits, creating a Rainbow Riot of flavours! We debuted our Rainbow Riot Sangria Beer during our Pride Lounge festivities all weekend long.
Stanley Park Brewing is committed to supporting and advocating for 2SLGBTQAI+ communities. We aim to provide opportunities to bring everyone together, creating inviting and inclusive events and moments for all to experience. We’ll continue to produce events that reflect the pride the 2SLGBTQAI+ community has, by strengthening the sense of community, and contributing to the vibrancy, health, and overall well-being of all persons in the community.
You bring out the best in people when you create a community that inspires, respects & includes one another. We look forward to celebrating and supporting Vancouver Pride Society for many years to come.
This summer YYOGA donated a total of $760 to the Vancouver Pride Society. The money was raised from a virtual by-donation class led by their awesome teacher Connor Roff. Guests were invited to bring a partner, or a friend to practice virtually as they opened our hearts and #movedtogether!
This year, Fairmont Hotels donated a total of $1210 from a series of rainbow culinary activations!
CRAFT Beer Market
On Parade day at CRAFT Beer Market, proceeds from the JoanE Mule was $270 in support of the LOUD Foundation Pride Youth Scholarship. These scholarships make education accessible to our 2SLGBTQIA+ youth leaders!
